Program Overview: Pathfinder International is seeking to recruit a Director Service Delivery for the NGO Health Service Delivery Project (NHSDP) in Bangladesh. This 5-year USAID/DFID-funded project focuses on supporting local NGO partners to increase access to an essential services package mainly for mothers, children and adolescents in a catchment population of approximately 25m people across Bangladesh through a network of static and satellite clinics and community workers. The project emphasizes behavior change communications (BCC) and community mobilization to create an enabling environment for better access to quality services. The project is organized to achieve the following intermediate results (IRs): IR1 - Client Base Expanded, Especially for the Poor, for a Quality Essential Service Package; IR2 - Optimal Health Behavior Promoted; and IR3 - Local Ownership of Service Delivery Enhanced.Position Purpose: The Director Service Delivery will provide technical and managerial oversight of the technical and thematic experts who assist the partner NGOs and clinics for increasing access to quality services across in areas that include FP, maternal and child health, ARSH, nutrition, TB, gender equity and urban health, all with an emphasis on reaching the poor and extreme poor.The key objective is to improve quality of service delivery in a systematic, institutionalized way. Using performance improvement initiatives, the project improves service providers' ability to deliver high quality timely ESP services, especially to poor and marginalized populations, through effective planning, monitoring and quality implementation based on strategies, contracts and project work plans. It also ensures policies and procedures that comply with regulations and current practice standards, and advises on rational utilization of resources. The Director will work closely with the technical team to ensure competency based technical training and technical assistance for service providers, clinic managers and NGO quality assurance managers. S/he will also coordinate closely with the other program areas related to BCC, CM, capacity building and performance based grants.
12 years of experience managing public health programs in socio-economic settings roughly equivalent to that of Bangladesh, including 6 years of senior management.Proven success in managing diverse teams to achieve results for improved health service delivery and health outcomesAbility to work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds; to communicate effectively; and to work independently as well as in a teamStrong capacity to use MS Outlook and various MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
