Specific Responsibilities: The CPD leads and manages the Challenge TB project in Bangladesh. S/he is accountable for overall project strategy and success, including delivering on key project results. The CPD has full accountability and authority for the development, execution, and monitoring of the Challenge TB project in country,. Overall project management, including the management of short and long term technical assistance and ensuring that the Challenge TB office follows standard Challenge TB and MSH administrative, procurement and financial procedures;. Development and management of productive relationships with USAID, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), the NTP and stakeholder(s) and; coordination with other projects. The CPD represents Challenge TB and MSH to USAID, the MOPH, the NTP, other governmental agencies and cooperating partners within Bangladesh. He/she will focus primarily on overall project management and work in close collaboration with the Challenge TB Bangladesh Technical Director, to be hired by IRD, who will provide day-to-day supervision of the technical team.
At least 8 years proven knowledge and international experience with public health and health services. At least 10 years of proven knowledge and international experience in programmatic and management of TB control; Asian experience a plus.Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to higher level government counterparts, advocating for program's goal and objectives while ensuring a sustainable approach, and a country-owned strengthened TB system. Demonstrated success in achieving results leading a National TB Control Program or TBExperience working with Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria projects desirable but not essential.Demonstrated knowledge about the importance of strategic planning and results frameworks for project impact on TB control. Demonstrated leadership skills in working and collaborating with donors, host country institutions (MOPH, NTP), and local and international organizations.Demonstrated organizational, managerial and supervisory skills and abilities; sound judgment, and high ethical standards; flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
